Three weeks into its global box-office run and despite losing IMAX screens to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the epic hit The Odyssey has now passed the coveted $1 billion mark worldwide. It has also emerged as the highest-grossing film of director Christopher Nolan's illustrious career. Nolan's previous release, the epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer, fell tragically short of the $1 billion mark in 2023, grossing $975 million at the global box office and going on to win the Best Director and Best Picture awards at the Oscars. The Odyssey is a shoo-in for awards success as well, but it'll compete as a record-breaking box-office success.
