This led to Reid starting a blackmail game with Voight, who was forced to take up his orders to save his team’s jobs.

However, Voight did not hold himself back and decided to expose Reid’s shady business. Soon, Reid found out about Voight’s investigation and ended up making some tough decisions. He went on to arrest and suspend Dante and Burgess and break up Voight’s team. Nevertheless, this makes Voight more determined to take down the troublemaker harming his team. He decides to go to greater lengths to expose Reid.

He is met with numerous challenges, and one of the people helping him passes away in an accident. Now, Voight is pushed beyond limits and crafts a clever plan to take down Reid once and for all. At last, Reid is taken down by none other than drug smuggler Jesus Otero’s son, Renny Otero, who wanted to seek revenge for the death of his father.

Renny goes on to kill Reid outside the court, and the latter tells Voight that he is worse than him before taking his last breath. Chapman managed to figure out that Voight was the real mastermind of Reid’s murder. She tells him how he released Renny, tells him about his father’s death, and gives him Reid’s location to take his revenge.

Voight indirectly accepts the truth, leading to a conflict with Chapman. It will be interesting to see how Reid’s death affects Voight and the team in Chicago PD’s upcoming season.
