CoinMarketCap shared the news on X, noting that custody clients can tap DeFi lending while assets stay in custody. Anchorage Digital Bank uses its Atlas Collateral Management system to coordinate loans and monitor collateral.
Chainlink Proof of Reserve records custody balances onchain. Data Feeds and Data Streams supply prices used to calculate loan-to-value ratios. The Chainlink Runtime Environment handles communication between the custody and onchain systems.
Chainlink estimates institutions hold about $700 billion in digital assets in custody. It compared that with roughly $250 trillion in traditional assets under custody.
Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley said the setup links custody protections with onchain liquidity. Chainlink has not disclosed any borrowing volume or lending commitments tied to the launch.
