Featuring nine collaborations across 16 tracks, Catz ‘n Dogz’s Finally embraces the tangible things in life, pairing its digital release with vinyl and cassette editions via Pets Recordings.

After more than two decades of making music together, Catz ’n Dogz have reached a point where the most radical thing they can do is slow down.

That’s the central idea behind Finally, the Polish duo’s eighth studio album and arguably their most introspective project yet. Across 16 tracks, Voitek and Greg move beyond the dancefloor formulas that have sustained their careers, leaning into songwriting, live instrumentation, soul, folk, funk, indie dance, and the uncomfortable business of actually feeling something.

According to the duo, they reached a creative standstill after years of “overthinking our music, obsessing over social media and chasing trends.” Their solution was to step away from the noise and return to family, collaboration, and human connection. The things that are tangible and really matter.

That philosophy extends beyond the music itself. Finally is also being released on vinyl and cassette, giving the album a physical life beyond the stream and reinforcing the duo’s desire to create something listeners can actually live with rather than scroll past.

In a world of disposable art, we wanted to create something for special moments. A piece of work that the listener can really connect with.

The opening “We’re Gonna Be Alright,” featuring Brooklyn singer-songwriter Ajii, establishes that direction immediately. The track’s soulful breakbeat foundation and unforced vocals repeating the song title evoke nostalgia mixed with hope. That approach also shows up in “Dance For You,” where Miller Blue brings a smoky quality to the record, and in “Impermanent,” a collaboration with Luisa Wilson that confronts the reality of change.

The album’s collaborations are perhaps its greatest strength. Gerd Janson appears on “Can’t Get Enough,” built around live bass and piano, while MYD and Stuzzi join the artists on “moln (Finally Version).” Ajii returns for “Heart On The Line,” another emotional, good-feel track. Charlotte Haining is featured on “Sun Goes Down,” Mateusz Krautwurst blesses “Miss You” with vocals, and Wilson appears again on “Trust The Melody.”

A genuine sense of friendship and intent runs through the record, fitting a duo who have spent years building not only a career but an ecosystem around themselves through their own label, Pets Recordings, and their wider work as curators.

The album’s insistence on optimism and emotion, and its ability to move listeners, can make its vocabulary feel familiar. Titles like “We’re Gonna Be Alright,” “Nothing Stays The Same,” and “Miss You” communicate their intentions plainly. But there is little ambiguity here. It’s apparent that Catz ’n Dogz want you to feel hopeful, nostalgic, connected.

The duo also adds moments of friction. “Be Mine” sits over a bass house beat that contrasts well with the soft vocals, while “One Day” turns a simple observation about travel and inspiration into something more personal. Then there’s “Change My Mind,” with a hidden reggaeton production over a house music framework.

The closing “Miss You” resists ending on a euphoric high, instead closing with melancholy and a final piano passage recorded in Warsaw. That ending feels appropriate. Finally isn’t really about abandoning the club. It is about understanding that there is more to Catz ’n Dogz than the club. It’s about spending time with an album and noticing the details, how it makes you feel.

The duo has spent 20-plus years learning how to make people move. On Finally, they seem more interested in making people pause and sit with a feeling.
