Speaking at Solana Accelerate, she highlighted key signals of momentum: falling costs, rapid adoption, and developer engagement.

“One of the things we look for in new technology is falling costs and accelerating uptake—and that’s certainly Solana,” Wood said.

She emphasized that Solana is one of the few protocols to survive a full market cycle, including the high-profile fallout of 2021 involving Sam Bankman-Fried. Rather than fade, Solana has rebounded and grown stronger. By July 2024, the network even surpassed Ethereum in new developer activity, signaling a shift in builder interest.

According to Wood, while Ethereum is increasingly institutional, Solana is consumer-focused—more agile, lower cost, and quicker to evolve. These qualities, she argues, are attracting real users and developers at scale.

“Follow the developers,” Wood added. “They’re showing us where the real innovation is happening.”
