“You’ve got to find ways [to win]. Whatever way you’ve got to do it,” said the Carolina Hurricanes coach after the roller coaster ride that was their clash against the New York Islanders. Fans barely had time to breathe during the edge-of-the-seat thriller. The Canes and the Islanders combined for 10 goals, and scored in every period before Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho put the final exclamation mark on the game.
All eyes were on Jarvis, who scored twice and notched an assist during the 6-4 match. Jarvis had also reached a special milestone. He equalled Kevyn Adams‘ (former Canes player-turned-Shares GM) single-season franchise record of five shorthand goals. So when one report asked if the 23-year-old would follow in Adams’ footsteps to become a GM, the Canes star had the most hilarious reaction.
Seth Jarvis almost couldn’t believe what the reporter had just asked him. “Me being a GM?” repeated the NHL player as if to confirm he wasn’t hearing things. When the interviewer affirmed, Jarvis had a two-word reply. “F— no!” Seth Jarvis said it with such conviction that the entire room burst into laughter. The fans watching on their screens had a similar reaction. “I’d almost take him over Kevyn Adams in Buffalo right now,” one fan commented on the clip, adding another layer of humor to the 23-year-old’s response.
