Carlos Alcaraz has his sixth Grand Slam crown.
The Spaniard defeated Italy’s Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday to win the men’s singles title at the 2025 US Open.
Sunday’s match marked the first time the same two men have played each other in three consecutive Grand Slam finals within a single season.
Alcaraz, 22, will now take over Sinner’s spot at No. 1 in the rankings come Monday. Sinner, 24, held the top spot for 65 consecutive weeks.
More to come.
