Zeev Buium didn’t wait long to introduce himself to Canucks faithful.

Buium, one of the players Vancouver received in the Quinn Hughes blockbuster trade on Friday, registered his first goal with the team when the Canucks faced the Devils on Sunday.

His marker came on the power play nearly seven minutes into the game. Buium fired the puck just wide of the net, but it deflected off Devils defenceman Brenden Dillon before tricking in.

The 20-year-old defenceman is known to be an offensive threat, and showed the hockey world why in just seven minutes with the Canucks.

Before the goal, Buium logged an assist on his first shift with the team, tallying the point of Jake Debrusk’s power-play marker just 90 seconds into the game.

Buium entered Sunday’s tilt with three goals and 11 assists in 31 games. He made his NHL debut last year in the playoffs, when he recorded an assist in four games.
