Vancouver Canucks forward Lukas Reichel has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks.
The Canucks announced on Saturday that the forward was designated non-roster waiver status.
Reichel was acquired by the Canucks on Oct. 25 from Chicago for a fourth-round selection. But the 23-year-old forward struggled to find his footing with the Canucks, recording just one assist in 14 games.
Over his career, the 2020 first-rounder has logged 22 goals and 37 assists in 188 games.
Vancouver needed to clear a spot on the 23-man roster after it acquired forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Ohgren along with defenceman Zeev Buium on Friday for Quinn Hughes.
