The Canadian soil is on fire with UFC 315. With a deadly KO win for Marc-Andre Barriault in the third bout of the night, it is safe to say that the Maple Leaf fighters gave a nasty response to the Americans who wanted Canada to become the nation’s 51st state. The story continued in the last bout of the prelims section as we witnessed another knockout, as Mike Malott first dropped Charles Radtke with a picture-perfect left hook and then finished him with brutal elbows in the second round. Needless to say, the Canadian had quite a bit of motivation running in even before he found his way to the Octagon in Montreal.
It all started in February when Canadian fans booed the US national anthem at the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament. Radtke declared, “When you all booed the national anthem, somebody’s going to have to pay for that.” Of course, that grabbed quite a bit of backlash for the American. But this wasn’t the first instance he found himself in the middle of controversies because of what he said. But this time, Malott proved that getting angry at the fans had to role to play in claiming a victory on the canvas.
UFC’s X account shared the crazy moment with the fighting realm. With Radtke flat on the ground, Malott jumped on him with his elbows forward. The finish was painful to watch as Radtke’s head bounced against the canvas multiple times, and his mouth guard even came out. No doubt, Marc Goddard, the referee in charge, had to jump in and finish the fight. And right after that, cheers rose for the Canadian fighter, and fans kept on booing ‘Chuck Buffalo’. The caption to the post read, “A ‘PROPER’ KNOCKOUT ON HOME SOIL.”

Well, he had already admitted that he wasn’t paying any heed to what his American opponent had to say. All he did was finish him off in the second round.
One fan wrote, “Impressive finish! Nasty left hook!” Another fan thanked Malott for the entertainment. The comment read, “This was so satisfying to watch ty mikey.” One more fan wrote, “What a knockout from Mike! OMG, can’t believe what I just saw! The referee stopped to early after tho.”
Some of the fans later decided to poke at Radtke. With his comments against Canada still going viral, one fan wrote, “Man, Radtke is gonna hate Canada… the F you Radtke chant, followed by that knockout.” Meanwhile, one of the fans weighed in on the mistakes that the American welterweight made in the bout. The comment read, “Radtke refused to be a dog and demand respect and got a deserved loss. Bro threw less than 10 significant strikes in an entire first round. Yikes, no wonder he got bullied… u have to show up and show out, not be timid.”
