UFC has returned to Perth for the fourth time in their history. This time, however, the promotion has made its Fight Night debut in the Western Australian city. As the main card is yet to begin, with Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes still set to collide, the prelims have already kicked off. There, one fight, in particular, ended with a bizarre request that left the referee stunned.
Alexander Volkanovski’s teammate Colby Thicknesse faced Congolese fighter Josias Musasa in the featured prelim of UFC Fight Night Perth. Many expected the fight to swing in Colby’s direction, but it turned out to be highly competitive, with Musasa even making a case to take the second round. However, it was the third round that truly became interesting.
Spotting an opening to the body, ‘Slickness’ unleashed a series of kicks to the midsection, but one of them strayed low to the groin area. Naturally, Musasa went down to the mat in visible pain, but what stunned everyone was his unusual request — asking the referee, “Can I pee?” right in the middle of the paused action. The official declined, telling him to wait until after. The Congo fighter took 4:23 off the clock to recover before continuing the bout. Once the final bell rang, the judges scored the fight in favor of Thicknesse.
