Wanna know who rides shotgun as DeWanna Bonner’s all-time best teammate? Not Caitlin Clark. Not Aliyah Boston. Not even—brace yourself—her own fiancée. That honor goes straight to Diana Taurasi. The GOAT. The Phoenix Mercury icon Bonner calls “family.” In a recent Sports Illustrated sit-down with Clark, Mitchell, and the Fever crew, Bonner’s loyalties reshuffled fast. Fiancée? Backseat. Taurasi? Shotgun, no questions asked. And Clark? She was as blindsided as anyone.

According to a post on X that shared a clip from a Sports Illustrated interview with Caitlin Clark, DeWanna Bonner, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, a simple question sparked a fun exchange. Bonner asked, “Okay, who’s my most favorite teammate ever?” Boston threw out a guess, but Bonner shut it down with a quick “No.” Then came Mitchell, who nailed it. “Kel’s got it,” Bonner said, pleased. Curious, Boston asked, “Wait, what did you put in?” Mitchell’s answer was short and sweet: “DT.” Of course, Diana Taurasi. Clark, not missing a beat, joked, “I was just an hour away,” referring to her delaying her answer.

But here’s the kicker—Boston had guessed Alyssa Thomas, Bonner’s rumored partner. Yet even that personal connection took a backseat to Taurasi, proving once again that for Bonner, the GOAT rides shotgun.
