1999 was one of the best years for film. The Matrix bent minds and dropped jaws as it set the standard for 21st century sci-fi; Tom Cruise delivered a pair of career-best performances in Eyes Wide Shut and Magnolia; Pixar achieved animation perfection with Toy Story 2; Election still holds up as one of the best political satires of all time, and it was set inside the walls of a school; South Park took their shocking brand of humor to Bigger, Longer & Uncut new lengths, and much more.
