Bridges For Music’s 10th anniversary ADE Charity Cycle heads from London to Amsterdam this October, alongside a special African Rising Music Conference takeover at art’otel Amsterdam, created in collaboration with House of A.
For years, Bridges For Music has been a vital force in the music community, supporting underserved communities and empowering youths to become changemakers. During the annual Amsterdam Dance Event, its ADE Charity Cycle has become one of the most anticipated events for artists, industry leaders and music professionals.
This year is particularly special as it marks the 10th anniversary of the annual fundraiser. Bridges For Music has announced art’otel as the official hotel partner for the milestone edition across London and Amsterdam, and will also host a special ADE takeover of the African Rising Music Conference.
On October 20-21, more than 40 riders will gather at art’otel London Hoxton for a pre-ride send-off before embarking on a 235-kilometer journey to Amsterdam. Their destination is art’otel Amsterdam, which will serve as a home base for the Bridges For Music community during ADE. From there, the African Rising Music Conference will take over the hotel on October 22 for a special Amsterdam edition, created in collaboration with House of A, focusing on Africa’s electronic music movement and opportunities within the global music industry.
Collaborating with Bridges for Music and House of A at ADE is an important opportunity to bring African artists, industry leaders and ideas into one of the world’s most significant electronic music spaces. It’s about building long-term relationships and ensuring African voices aren’t just represented but actively shaping the future of electronic music globally. A platform that celebrates where the music comes from, while opening new opportunities for where it can go.
SJ Nicholson, Founder & Programme Director, Africa Rising Music ConferenceThe conference will extend beyond the conversations, with a full program featuring meditation and wellness sessions, networking opportunities, panels exploring mental health, sustainability in music careers, listening sessions, emerging artist showcases, and more. The event will spotlight South Africa’s evolving music scene, with featured performances from Kususa, Oskido, Kalawa Jazmee, Yamz, Phiwo, and Paradise Sound System.
This year, Bridges For Music is setting its sights on its biggest fundraising target yet: £100,000, which would cover the tuition fees for 100 students at the Bridges Academy in Langa Township, Cape Town. The milestone builds on a decade of impact, with previous editions raising more than £500,000 since the cycle launched and bringing together a community of more than 400 riders.
Over the years, the ride has attracted a roster of artists including Richie Hawtin, Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing, Pan-Pot, Mark Knight, and Rebekah, among many others, turning a two-day ride into an ongoing platform for change in the industry.
From the cycle itself to the music conference and fundraising efforts, plenty is happening around ADE this year. At the heart of it all, Bridges For Music continues to bring the community together through a shared commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for the next generation.
The 10th anniversary of Bridges for Music ADE Charity Cycle runs from October 20-21. Those looking to join the ride can sign up via their website.
