Perhaps among the summer's riskiest films, F1: The Movie will determine whether there's a market for mega-budget, star-driven tent poles that are not based on prior intellectual property. Starring Brad Pitt and directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski, the movie cost a reported $300 million to produce, and marks Pitt's biggest project in over a decade. He last headlined a movie this big back in 2013, and it was just as risky then. The movie in question, World War Z, was produced at a time when projects involving zombies were generating huge levels of interest; this was in the aftermath of The Walking Dead. World War Z is now making an impression on the streaming charts, as fans get ready for F1 later this summer.
