Bandai Namco’s Blue Protocol MMORPG launched in Japan on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC and was supposed to appear worldwide on consoles with the help of Amazon shut down in January 2025. Now the “next installment” known as Blue Protocol: Star Resonance previously confirmed for Asia by Tencent's Shanghai Bokura Technology is confirmed for a 2025 worldwide release via A Plus Japan. PR confirmed to Siliconera that Bandai Namco is not involved, beyond licensing the IP for the game.
Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is set in the world of Regnas and will feature some ties to the setting and designs in the original game, but is an entirely new installment. The official announcement also still referred to it as an MMORPG. Players will still get to choose their characters’ classes and explore an anime-inspired world. The PC version will be found on both Epic Games Store and Steam.
While details are still a bit slim as to what the experience will be like and when we’ll be playing, other elements are confirmed and online. A social media account and YouTube channel are live. There’s also an official website. Its Discord is available as well.
Bokura and A Plus Japan also released two initial screenshots, which you can see below:
