Of late, Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh is making it to the headlines for all the wrong reasons. After Anjali Raghav controversy, he has now hit the headlines as allegedly a case has been filed against him in connection to Rs 1.57 crore fraud. Along with the actor, Premshankar Rai, his wife Seems Rai and Abhishek Choubey have also been named in the FIR filed at Cantt Police station. Full report here.
All about case against Pawan Singh
As per a report in News18, Pawan Singh, Premshankar Rai, Seema Rai and Abhishek Choubey have been allegedly accused of duping a hotel businessman of Rs 1.57 crore. They have been accused of cheating the businessman by promising investment and profit in Bhojpuri film. He was assured that the money would return with profits but that never happened, claimed the complainant. Vishal Singh, the complainant, reportedly revealed that Premshankar Rai and wife Seema Rai convinced him to invest in a Bhojpuri film promising hefty returns. He met them during his studies in Mumbai. He deposited Rs 32.60 lakhs in their account and around Rs 1.25 crore was later spent in making of the film and promotions. The allegations also state that the accused forged documents showing Vishal as the producer. They then allegedly started evading him when he asked for his money. Reports also claim that actor Pawan Singh threatened to kill Vishal. A case has been filed under sections 420, 406, 467, 468, and 506 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Pawan Singh-Anjali Raghav controversy
In recent times, Pawan Singh was in news as a video of him keeping his hand on actress Anjali Raghav's waist went viral. The actress appeared uncomfortable and the video went viral on social media in no time. He received a lot of flak for his actions. Later, Anjali Raghav shared a video on social media stating that she did feel uncomfortable due to the incident. The matter then reached Women's Commission. Pawan Singh issued an apology post the incident.
