Beyond the Gates Spoilers Video Promo: ‘You Can’t Have Both of Us’

Questionable Actions

The action in the Beyond the Gates spoilers preview video for the week of November 3 opens at the Dupree family home as Vernon (Clifton Davis) fields a phone call. The person on the other end appears to be questioning his decision-making skills, because he tells them, “I know what I’m doing.” Does he really? Because he’s next seen in a dark hallway knocking on a door. A woman answers as he’s heard telling the person on the phone, “Let me handle this my way.” When the door opens, Vernon is there and whispers, “Sorry I’m late.” What is Vernon up to?

Taking a Stand

At the hospital, Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) is on her cell phone talking with Derek (Ben Gavin). “You don’t ‘fess up, and soon, pretty sure you’ll regret it.” Her wise words appear to come true the next moment as a standing Derek is taken by surprise when Ashley (Jen Jacob) enters their apartment and is stunned by the sight before her. “Oh my God,” she tells her fiancé. “This is incredible! Look at you,” she says as Derek appears frozen, like a deer in headlights.

Father Knows Best

Martin (Brandon Claybon) is at his home and tells someone, “Today’s your last day.” Has he told his daughter Samantha (Najah Jackson) that she has to quit modeling at his sister Kat’s (Colby Muhammad) company, ChelseaKat? This may be the case, because the next thing that happens is a heartbroken Samantha, in front of Martin, Smitty (Mike Manning) and her brother Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller), telling her father, “Taking away my dream? I hate you.” With that, she walks out of their home as Smitty calls after her, “Samantha — wait!” Tyrell looks at Martin with confusion, powerless to stop his family from imploding in front of him.

Family Affair

At the hospital, Kat confronts Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and their dad Ted (Keith D. Robinson) in front of the nurses’ hub, where Shanice is working. Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) is also there as Eva responds to Kat, “I called him ‘Dad’.” Kat reacts, telling Ted, “Well, I hope you enjoy the one daughter you have left, because you can’t have both of us.” Stunned, everyone is left watching as Kat stalks off.

A Shock to the System

Joey (Jon Lindstrom) is dining with Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) at the Fairmont Crest Country Club as a club member talks with them. “No, I had him killed so I could have his wife all to myself,” he tells her as Vanessa stares at him, wondering if he’s finally saying the awful truth out loud.
