When did the PS5 come out?

Sony’s PlayStation 5 was released on November 19, 2020, in the UK.

However, shoppers in Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and the US were able to get their hands on the console a little earlier, on November 12.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro was released later, on November 7, 2024.

Can you play PS4 games on PS5?

Yes, most PS4 games are playable on the PS5 thanks to its backward compatibility.

According to PlayStation: ”The overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 games are playable on PS5 consoles.”

Thanks to the PS5’s powerful hardware and Game Boost feature, select PS4 games may run with a higher or smoother frame rate.

PlayStation VR games are also included among the thousands of PS4 games that are playable on PS5 consoles.

What is Days of Play?

Sony’s Days of Play celebration is underway.

The sales event, which kicked off on May 28, 2025, is packed with promotional offers on games and consoles, new content, and community activities.

Throughout the two-week celebration, shoppers can score Days of Play deals on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, PS VR2 headsets and bundles, digital games from the PlayStation Store, PS5 accessories, and more.
