Benjamin Netanyahu speaks at the United Nations General Assembly last month.Benjamin Netanyahu has hit out at the UK government as he claimed Israel warned Britain that Iran was planning a terror attack.
The Israeli prime minister’s comments come after Andy Burnham said Tehran “played a part” in the suspected RAF Fairford terror plot.
Speaking to Fox News, Netanyahu said Israeli intelligence told their British counterparts about the possibility of an Iranian attack on UK soil.
But he claimed that the government responded by imposing sanctions on Israeli settlers in the Palestinian West Bank “pretty much the next day”.
Netanyahu said: “You talk about this thing in Britain. You want to hear how absurd things are there and how far the anti-Israel propaganda has gone?
“We gave the Brits the intel that there was going to be an attack, an Iranian sponsored attack, and pretty much the next day they slapped sanctions on us. So it’s wild.
“The caving in, the collapse, before the Islamist-Marxist alliance is very dangerous for the future of the west.”
HuffPost UK has approached Downing Street and the Foreign Office for a response to his comments.

Five men were arrested on Sunday following the discovery of three suspicious vans near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, which has been used by the American military to launch bombing raids on Iran.
The men, who are all British citizens from London, were released on bail and investigations into the incident are continuing.
On Wednesday, Burnham said: “I can say that there are strong indications that Iran played a part in what happened over the weekend.
“So we can confirm our belief that they did play a part, but it remains a live police investigation in terms of counter terrorism police, so I don’t feel able to say anymore at this point in time.”
