One Battle After Anotheris set to be one of the prominent releases of the fall calendar in 2025, or, at least, that's what Warner Bros. is trying to will into existence. Working on his highest budget and most elaborate production scale to date, Paul Thomas Andersonhas never been in the position of helming a blockbuster, but his new action/black comedy/thriller starring Leonardo DiCapriois being pushed heavily by his studio, even though the director is not one to make mainstream, crowd-pleasing, and spectacle-driven event films. We're witnessing a fascinating dynamic between WB promoting the movie as a familiar action-adventure/war epic and Anderson's presence as a subversive and challenging auteur.
