Battlestar Galactica was a relatively small show during its four seasons on Syfy, and many cast members hadn't yet become big names in TV. Stars like Katee Sackhoff and Grace Park had long enough runs on the show to eventually become icons of Battlestar Galactica, but one actor's character was killed off early enough that he's largely been forgotten in the years since. Even though BSG still ranks as one of the greatest sci-fi/fantasy shows of all time after killing off Crashdown, Sam Witwer's Star Wars success proves that he likely still had more to give on Battlestar.
