Bandai cautions against generative AI images using red Bandai logo or blue Bandai Spirits logo

Bandai has published a new press release where it cautions people against generative AI images using its logos. It received reports of social media posts containing AI-generated figure images that are made to look like official posts while using the red Bandai logo or the blue Bandai Spirits logo.

The company clarifies that its legitimate merchandise would only appear on its official website and social media accounts. It will also not entertain any questions about products that are not made by the company group.

Bandai requests that people refrain from making posts using AI images that mimic its official announcements. In addition, the company warns that some of the AI-generated images may even infringe on copyrights.

As a reminder, Bandai uses its original red logo for card games, Gashapon capsule toys, apparel, confectionery, and all-ages toys like the Tamagotchis. Meanwhile, the blue Bandai logo applies to Bandai Spirits' products like model kits (including Gunplas from the Gundam franchise), S.H.Figuarts action figures, Ichiban Kuji lotteries, and Banpresto crane game prizes.

The blue Bandai Spirits logo can also appear on mock Gunpla covers that are legally producible via diorama photographs from the video game Gundam Breaker 4, which is available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
