Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), without evidence, linked the illegal trafficking of human kidneys to aid provided for Ukraine's fight against Russia.
In a Wednesday message posted to the X social media platform, Greene shared a report about a Ukrainian woman convicted in Poland for selling 56 human kidneys.
"The woman was convicted for participation in an international organised criminal group that illegally collected tissues and organs from people from 2017 to 2019 and sold them on the black market," the Reuters report said.
Greene pointed to the story as evidence that "very bad things" were happening connected to the current fighting in Ukraine, which began after Russia launched a 2022 attack on its neighbor.
"I have fought against U.S. involvement and funding of the Ukraine war from the very start," Greene wrote. "This is one of the reasons why."
"A lot of very bad things are happening there and America should not be involved in any of it," she added.

Some commenters rejected Greene's connection between aid to Ukraine and organ trafficking.
"You are a traitor to American values," one Ukraine defender wrote.
"My God you're an absolute thicko," another pro-Ukraine commenter said on Wednesday.
