Avengers: Doomsday Cast: Charlie Cox on if Daredevil Will Appear

Charlie Cox might just have ruined the day for all Daredevil enthusiasts out there with his latest comments regarding the masked vigilante’s involvement in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday. While he will reprise his role of Matt Murdock for the already confirmed Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, his recent comments seem to indicate that fans will miss out on watching the Man Without Fear in the upcoming Avengers sequel (unless he’s playing an Andrew Garfield on fans).

Charlie Cox says Daredevil is not in Avengers: Doomsday

In a recent interview, Charlie Cox revealed that his Daredevil will not make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Cox was asked if fans could “expect any fun cameos this season.” The 42-year-old actor issued a crisp and precise response to the query, simply stating, “Yeah.” The interviewer then questioned Charlie Cox about Daredevil’s proposed appearance in Avengers 5, saying, “What about Avengers: Doomsday? Any chance we could see you there?” To the disappointment of many, the Theory of Everything actor noted, “Not me. I’m excited to see it, but I’m not involved in that.”

Notably, Charlie Cox also missed out on a shout-out during the Avengers: Doomsday official cast reveal, further validating the actor’s comments about Daredevil’s absence in the forthcoming MCU project.

However, there have been multiple occasions in the past where actors have lied about their involvement in Marvel films. Andrew Garfield infamously denied all rumors of reprising his role of Peter Parker in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Nevertheless, he ended up playing a pivotal role in the Jon Watts-directed movie, alongside another returnee in the form of Tobey Maguire.

While fans will most probably miss Daredevil’s presence in Avengers: Doomsday, they will see Cox don the iconic red suit in the second season of Born Again. Even though the sequel chapter has yet to receive an official release date, the season is expected to release sometime in March 2026.
