The recent success of Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, The Odyssey, piqued the audiences' interest in other movies inspired by Greek epics. The Odyssey has so far grossed nearly $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office, having become the highest-grossing film of Nolan’s career. Troy, the 2004 blockbuster that Nolan nearly directed, emerged as a major hit on Netflix and Prime Video in the wake of The Odyssey’s success, and it is currently available on Peacock in the United States for the rest of August. In addition to Troy, audiences also revisited a 2010 epic that was a massive theatrical hit at the time, but has mostly been forgotten in the years since.
