Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Murderbot season 1, episode 3 & All Systems Red.David Dastmalchian's character in Apple TV+'s Murderbot, Dr. Gurathin, is already very different from his counterpart in Martha Wells' books. David Dastmalchian is one of the biggest names in the already star-studded cast of Murderbot, alongside Alexander Skarsgård as Murderbot and Noma Dumezweni as Mensah. His character, Gurathin, is also a relatively minor part of the book that Murderbot is based on, The Murderbot Diaries: All Systems Red, so it makes sense that the part would be expanded to highlight Dastmalchian more. However, in fleshing Gurathin out, Murderbot has also made a massive change to him that I'm very wary of.
