Modern Star Wars has a problem. Despite numerous TV shows and movie projects that have expanded the universe following the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, the galaxy far, far away somehow feels smaller than ever. For all Disney and Lucasfilm’s efforts, Star Wars just doesn’t seem to inspire the jaw-dropping sense of sci-fi wonder it once did. Instead of expanding the imagination, many newer stories seem to make the universe feel increasingly self-contained rather than endlessly mysterious.
