Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs for its actors leaving the show one after the other. In December last year, Alisha Parveen who played the role of Rahi, Anupamaa and Anuj Kapadia's daughter revealed that she did not quit herself but was removed by the makers without explanation.

Alisha even claimed that her termination was abrupt. Now, producer Rajan Shahi has now reacted to this claim and said that she was informed about her replacement a month in advance and her exit was not abrupt. The makers have roped in Adrija Roy to play the role of Rahi.

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Rajan Shahi spoke about Alisha's exit from Anupamaa. He said, "Certain things were very good about the said actor (Alisha Parveen) when there was one sort of performance but there were stages of performances. Ultimately, it was a love story, which she had been told. Hum apni taraf se poori effort karenge (we took all the efforts from our end) but that energy level was not there to match that part with the love story that was happening."

He also added saying that, "Ek performance jahan high energy thi, cheekha chilli thi, emotions correct tha, aap talent ko ek baar do baar chaar baar meetings huyi, it was not an abrupt call. The channel was also seeing and there was a lot of disappointment from their side that it (the performance) was not up to the mark".

He even spoke about how he broke the news of her exit, when he bumped into Alisha at an award function. He said that several allegations were made after Alisha's dismissal from the show and they even claimed that someone else was responsible for her exit. "Vo ek bachkaani baatein thi, vo ek self-defense tha, vo apna justify karne vali baat thi. Hum zyada ghuse nahi kyunki humein bhi next sochna hai. (That was a childish thing, it was an act of self-defense, it was something meant to justify oneself. We didn't get too angry because we also have to think about what comes next). I could make out that extra effort was not being made there and she said that she was unable to get the romance with her onscreen partner (Shivam Khajuria)," he said.

Rajan even said that he feels Rupali Ganguly, who plays the role of Anupamaa in the show becomes an easy target for the media because she is popular and her name creates hype. He said that Rupali is responsible for everything internationally and nationally. He also said that Rupali is responsible for everything. He even said, "Even if there is a problem in Germany, Rupali is responsible. She is a very easy target. You take her name and ten journalists will write. It is a price one has to pay for fame."
