MANCHESTER UNITED fans were claiming there was “another one incoming” after spotting an academy starlet training with the first-team.

Boss Erik ten Hag suffered a fresh injury blow last weekend when Luke Shaw was forced off in the 2-1 win at Luton Town.

That was the second-successive game that the England international left-back, 28, had been hurt and subbed in.

Now there are fears that Shaw could miss the rest of the season and also be a doubt for this summer’s Euros in Germany.

Ten Hag has been left without a recognised left-back after Shaw’s latest injury set back with team-mate Tyrell Malacia yet to play this term after knee surgery in the summer.

However, the Dutch coach has already shown that he holds no fears about handing youngsters from the club’s academy their opportunity to shine.

Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, 18, is the latest to make the successful jump into first-team regular.

And now some supporters are hoping that Harry Amass could follow in his footsteps after the 16-year-old was spotted training with Ten Hag’s squad ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Fulham in the Premier League.

The left-back was snapped up by the Red Devils from Watford last summer but he has already impressed coaches at Carrington.

The England Under-17 international was also wanted by Chelsea when United swooped.

So far he has scored one and produced three assists as well as shining in his defensive responsibilities for the club’s U18s this season.

Amass trained with Ten Hag’s team this month, and after joining them again this week, the No.70 could be set to be part of the matchday squad for the first time.

And following the success of Alejandro Garnacho and Mainoo as regulars, fans struggled to contain their excitement regarding Amass.

“Our future LB,” wrote one in response to a snap of him in training.

A fellow fan commented: “Another one incoming.”

“Going to be scary but not for us,” said a third, with a fourth writing: “Get him at LB immediately!”

Another supporter said: “Love to see how the young players are being called up to the squad.”

While a sixth added: “Ten Hag is so invested in the academy.”
