George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) was troubled in Coronation Street tonight as he learnt something about his partner Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).
Over the past few weeks, Eileen has been focused on looking after sister Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh). Shortly after she returned, Julie told her family that she has stage four cancer.
Amid the storyline, Julie has reunited with old partner Brian Packham (Peter Gunn). The discussion of relationships led Eileen to think about her own, as she admitted to Julie that she isn’t quite sure if George is the man of her dreams.
In tonight’s episode, after a drink in the pub with her sister, Julie accidentally told George that Eileen isn’t too happy in her relationship, and wants him to make more effort.

The news took George by complete surprise. He tried to talk to Eileen later in the day, but she told him it wasn’t anything to worry about, and that she’s just busy with her sister.
The difficult dynamic with George will continue next week, as he forgets about his plan to take Eileen and Julie to the lake for the day.
Once the siblings get there, George is left at the house alone. He manages to find a video of Julie, detailing how she thinks Eileen shouldn’t be with George.

We know that Eileen will be leaving Coronation Street soon with Sue Cleaver saying ‘This is my decade. Nothing good happens if you don’t step out of your comfort zone,’ so one way or another her life is going to change drastically.
Will giving George the boot be part of that change?
Or can he do something to convince her that he’s worth sticking with?
