Do you guys remember when Angel Reese pulled up to the Terps Sweet Sixteen matchup with the t-shirt, “JUJU SISTER”? The WNBA star was fresh off an Unrivaled championship, but still pulled through to support her brother and former university in their March Madness exploits. That’s the kind of relationship the two siblings have. Today is a special day for the Reese family, and they’re celebrating it quite publicly!

Julian Reese, after playing his final season as a Terrapin, has now graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Human Development. His college career under coach Kevin Willard was unassuming to start off with, but JuJu quickly showcased his potential, averaging over 13 points per game as a junior!

Angel Reese was present for his graduation ceremony, even though she has a rather important fixture later in the day. She shared a heartwarming photo of her brother in his graduation garb, showing just how involved and caring of a sister she is with Julian!

Despite facing adversity, including the WNBA’s investigation into hateful comments targeting her during the season opener against Indiana, Angel’s presence at the ceremony showed her strength, balancing family pride with professional pressure under the league’s “No Space for Hate” initiative.

To be honest, she has always been on the sidelines cheering on her brother. It wasn’t just about the Sweet Sixteen either. After all, they were in the same university for a while before Reese transferred to LSU, but the sibling duo are as thick as thieves. But where does their dynamic come from? Well, according to Angel, it comes from growing up together in a tough neighborhood, and always competing!

While talking to What’s Up? Magazine a while back, Reese revealed their sibling dynamic growing up. “Everything was always competitive with my younger brother,” she said. “We had a basketball court in front of our house, and it was always very competitive and intense. We played all the time together. It helped shape me to who I am now.” And evidently, it shaped Julian as well!

The Terrapins senior had wowed us all by completing 1000 rebounds in his collegiate career. It was an impressive feat, especially considering that he came off the bench for the beginning of his tenure at Maryland. Obviously, he took after his older sister! We’ve seen the carnage that Angel has brought upon the WNBA with her physicality and rebounding, and it seems to be a family trait.

The Chicago Sky will be playing against the defending champs, the New York Liberty, and boy, will it be fun to watch! Reese and her team have a lot to prove after losing the season-opener to Indiana, while the Liberty will obviously be looking to defend their title.

It will be quite an interesting matchup. Angel Reese posted up an impressive 12 points and 17 rebounds against the Fever, but recuperating from such a major loss will require a successful game against the Liberty. Stay tuned for all the action at 8PM Eastern Time!

But what’s next for Julian Reese? The six-foot-nine forward had a successful partnership with center Derik Queen this year, but he has exhausted his NCAA eligibility. So what does the young star plan on doing next? Let’s find out!

What does the future hold for Angel Reese’s younger brother Julian Reese?

The word ‘nonchalant’ would not even begin to describe how Julian Reese is. As his mom said, “He’s not a young man of many words”. But his impact on the court? It’s louder than any speaker, any screamer, and any noise that you could muster up. Julian showed out for the Terrapins during this year’s March Madness.

He averaged 15 points, 9 rebounds, and nearly 2 steals a game during the postseason, making sure the world knew he showed up whenever the call came. Not to mention, his 12 points in the Sweet Sixteen against national champions Florida really proved his mettle for the big leagues. Julian suited up one last time for the Terrapins during their Sweet Sixteen loss, and now fans are left asking–what’s next?

Well, the first and most obvious thing that Reese is waiting on is the NBA draft. After scoring 1400 points, and lodging 1000 rebounds in his collegiate career, Julian Reese might be league-bound! His size, athleticism, and defense are viewed favorably by scouts. However, if he were to get selected, it would be in the second-round according to most draft mocks and projections. Unfortunately, he did not get a call for the NBA Draft Combine, but will still be looking at the board in June to see if a team is willing to take a chance on him.

And aside from the league, Julian Reese has entered the NCAA transfer portal despite exhausting his eligibility. In case the association changes their rules, like many players are hoping, he will be headed back for one last year of college hoops.

While Julian’s career trajectory has been completely different than that of his sister’s, it is obvious that Angel will always stand in support of her younger brother. Her presence at his ceremony despite a game in the evening was living proof of this! And as for the rest? Only time will tell where the winds take the Terps graduate.

And as for Angel? Well, she has a lot on her plate tonight, and we can only imagine the kind of monstrous numbers she will be putting up against the Liberty.
