The Oscar-nominated director Paul Greengrass has made critical and commercial underperformers in the past, but rarely both at once. While Jason Bourne, his 2016 reboot of the action franchise, received mediocre reviews, it was a major box-office hit. On the other hand, while his breakout movie Bloody Sunday received phenomenal reviews, it was a non-performer at the box office. However, in 2010, Greengrass made a movie that fell short of expectations both critically and commercially: the Iraq War thriller Green Zone, starring Matt Damon. Now, he has delivered arguably his biggest disappointment — a movie that lost more than 90% of its theatrical footprint in two weeks, only to be released digitally immediately afterward.
