In footage published by Cosmopolitan, Garfield, 41, wore a black graphic tee, blue button-up shirt, slacks, and a baseball cap while holding a black tote bag. He smiled and hugged Barbaro, 34, when she arrived in a black tulle Dior dress, different from her red carpet outfit earlier that evening.

Monica Barbaro made her Met Gala debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a recreation of Dior’s 1947 New Look: a white jacket and pleated black tulle skirt, accessorized with black gloves and a boater hat. The gala followed the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme. After the event, Barbaro changed into a Fall-Winter 2025 Dior ensemble with a Lady Dior bag.

People confirmed in February 2025 that Garfield and Barbaro were “quietly dating” after they were seen together at a performance of Richard II at London’s Bridge Theatre. In a social media video from February 20, they were spotted chatting casually before the show. A source told People, “They’ve been really lowkey and have been spending time together quietly.” Reps for both actors did not comment.

Photographers captured the pair at W Magazine’s Best Performances party in Los Angeles on January 4. They also attended an Oscars afterparty hosted by Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Garfield last appeared at the Met Gala in 2019. This appearance marks their second public outing together at a high-profile event since February.
