Two weeks ahead of the premiere, Disney Plus released a new promotional spot featuring fresh footage. The trailer shows quick cuts of key characters, including Cassian Andor, Mon Mothma, Vel Sartha, Luthen Rael, and K-2SO, highlighting scenes from the Rebellion’s perspective. During the spot, a voice states, “The revolution is coming alive,” emphasizing the season’s focus on unifying the Rebel movement.

The series, which serves as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, follows Cassian Andor as he transforms into a key figure in the Rebellion. Season 1 showed fragmented groups resisting the Empire, while Season 2 will depict these factions joining together. In the new trailer, Saw Gererra leads a group, signaling his continued role in the resistance.

Showrunner Tony Gilroy addressed the upcoming season’s scale in an interview with Empire, stating, “How do you scale up? How do you play with others? How do all the disparate pieces of the Rebellion come together in [Rebel base] Yavin?”

Gilroy wrote the first three episodes. Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, and Tom Bissell wrote the following sets. Ariel Kleiman directs the first six episodes, while Janus Metz directs the next three; Alonso Ruizpalacios helms the final block of episodes from 10-12.
