EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (August 25) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.
Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) was taken aback when Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) asked her out for a drink.
The teen, as viewers know, has been struggling to keep a lid on the fact that she was the one who attacked Joel Marshall (Max Murray) last month, something which only Craig knows about.
Craig was the detective tasked with solving the case and, after a few conversations, Amy revealed that she was the one who committed the assault.
The news came as a shock to Craig, who had already agreed to withhold the footage of the teens taunting a tied up Joel prior to the attack.
But before he could decide on whether or not to report his findings, he was summoned to the station, where DS Reynolds (Kevin Fuller) told him that a further complaint had been made against him, as viewers learned that he’d been moved to Walford after a previous complaint issue.
In light of the recent update, Craig was told he is now being investigated for gross misconduct over ‘engaging in inappropriate relationships with a female officer’.
He refrained from telling Amy about his suspension – and the reason for it – and instead claimed that he had decided to keep her name out of the investigation.
Amy was incredibly grateful while Craig urged her to come to him if she needs anything.
In Tuesday’s (August 25) edition of the BBC One soap, Craig was spotted at the station by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), who quizzed him on why he was in. ‘HR rubbish’, he responded.
Later, Craig encountered Amy – who had just been rejected by Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) – at Gaming Grounds.
‘Do you not feel guilty, hanging out with people you’re lying to?’ he said, referring to a recent social media post she made with her fellow teens, who were all once suspects in the Joel case.
Craig quickly added that he was just ‘teasing’ her. He branded her friends ‘kids’ and said she was an ‘old soul’, suggesting they go for a drink together.
Amy was taken aback and somewhat speechless at first but after an exchange over whether or not she would get served a drink, she agreed to meet with him tomorrow.
Craig set off with a smile but his expression soon changed. Is Amy in danger? Just what is Craig up to? And will Jack find out?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
