“You’re not going to win the game,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said after facing a disappointing loss against the New York Knicks. The Greek Freak didn’t seem too pleased with the outcome of the recent matchup, and his displeasure has only added fuel to the ongoing trade rumors. With the Bucks clearly struggling to find their momentum, Celtics legend Paul Pierce has shared his thoughts on the situation.
The Truth believes that a trade sending Antetokounmpo to OKC might be possible. If that were to happen, it would bring a major power shift to the league. Pierce points out that OKC has a wealth of future assets and first-round picks. This positions them as one of the most favorable teams capable of making such a deal without dismantling its roster. Furthermore, acquiring Antetokounmpo could transform the Oklahoma City Thunders into a powerhouse.
“This will break the league if this trade happens. If you can find a way to get Giannis to OKC you know why and this is why I say that they got all the draft picks they got young talent that you can trade for him. Like nobody can give you the asset that OKC can get you. You know what I’m saying they gonna get the Clippers pick this year they got about like 25 first round picks,” Pierce explained.
The team holds four first-round picks in the 2025 draft and boasts between 9 to 15 future first-round picks over the next seven drafts. Their current roster includes six first-round picks, giving OKC an unmatched collection of draft assets.

Giannis Antetokounmpo upset over the team’s lesser effort
After winning the championship in 2020, the team struggled to find consistency. Last season, the Bucks suffered an early exit from the NBA playoffs. Going into this season, their start was unimpressive with a 2-6 record. After defeating the Utah Jazz, there was some relief, but that joy quickly turned sour as they faced the tough and well-prepared Knicks.
The Bucks were defeated 116-94. Speaking to the media, Antetokounmpo expressed that the team didn’t show the effort needed to win. Antetokounmpo scored 24 points, while Damian Lillard contributed 19 points.
“We came to New York after playing great last night. Then we come here and lose by 30. Are you OK with not competing? I’m not OK with that s—. We’ve got Boston in two days. We don’t compete, we’re going to lose by 30,” Giannis said. He concluded that the team would need to work harder and more consistently if they wished to succeed.
