Amid ‘Big’ Concern, Michael Strahan’s Cancer-Free Daughter Confesses She Will Never Be the Same After Recovery

The Strahan family had a difficult 2023! While the head of the family, Michael Strahan, was busy with the NFL season. At home, one of his younger daughters, Isabella Strahan, was diagnosed with cancer. In October 2023, she received an unexpected diagnosis of medulloblastoma. Many people may be unaware that this is an aggressive malignant brain tumor in the cerebellum. This is one of the most life-threatening conditions, but thankfully Isabella recovered from it. It looks like after recovering from it, her life has not been the same.

It was July 2024 when Michael Strahan revealed that his daughter had finally recovered from the life-threatening condition. The cancer was in its early stages when diagnosed, thus it was cured in a shorter amount of time. In July, Isabella started going to college again at the University of Southern California.

She spent a full semester out for treatment and recovery, making it difficult for her to catch up. But, throughout that time, she learned how unpredictable life can be. Isabella Strahan was just 19 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer. Getting a rare life-threatening diagnosis at such a young age may have obviously left a negative impact on her mind. And as she was on the March 1 episode of Beyond the Battlefront podcast. Host Noor Hassan and Isabella chatted a lot about her fight through cancer and how she survived that phase of her life.

Isabella highlighted how she used to think about life before cancer and after cancer: “I think I always like have an open positive mindset, not to show yourself off like this is the end, like life is never gonna get better. I definitely was that person and now I am trying to be like, see how I should not be that person because I don’t think you can ever just say life will never get better and I will be never be the same. Like, maybe I will never be the same person, but I think it’s a new person, and there’s so many new things are there so I think it’s great, so kinda just appreciating like where I am right now.”

When Isabella became cancer free, that was a moment of pure joy and relief for the entire Strahan family and Isa herself. Her last chemotherapy session was when Michael Strahan poured his emotions on social media. He expressed his happiness and pride as a father that her daughter had survived one of the most traumatic phases of her life. Michael even penned a small message for Isabella on social media which read, “You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella ”

This was truly a tough moment for the family. And now that it’s over, looks like they are back at enjoying the little moments in life.

Everyone knows that Michael Strahan’s show Good Morning America is always packed with laughter. But the episode of March 6 was a bit more special, when Roy Wood Jr. was invited on the show. Strahan and Roy had a hearty conversation about each other’s families and their kids as well. And during this chat, things took an interesting turn when the NFL legend revealed Isabella has a boyfriend now.

As the crowd broke into oohs and aahs, Roy went ahead adding an ‘uh-oh’ to their chatter and asked Michael, “Are you one of them Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Bad Boys, intimidate the boyfriend when you meet him?” Well, Strahan had an interesting answer to this question. He admitted to having done it before with his oldest daughter Tanita’s boyfriend. “I’ve got to tone it down,” he confessed. “But I do size them up.” At the same time, he also confessed that he wants to be a father they could bring their boyfriends home to.

That’s not just it. There were some more interesting details revealed about his twin daughters’ love life. Strahan mentioned how he didn’t want to be as intimidating with Isa’s boyfriend since he is a part of a baseball team. Adding more to that, he even admitted how Isa’s twin Sophia’s boyfriend is also a part of some baseball team.“I don’t know where the baseball players came from!”

He explained, “But these are some big kids! I’m not going to lie to you, Roy.” Not only that, but the NFL veteran made an amusing comment here admitting he should hit the gym on the daily. Just so he could come off as intimidating just in case things went South or if Isa’s bf ‘acted up.’ The comedian had a fun reply to Strahan saying,  “That’s not Big Papa behavior! That’s young granddaddy behavior.”  

While there is no concrete information on any of the sisters’ boyfriends, certain rumors do exist. In January 2025, Isabella was spotted with a boxer guy and this started a few relationship speculations. However, no update came after that day. But now that Strahan has confirmed they both are a part of some baseball teams, these rumors don’t make much sense.
