All Tube Lines Affected As London Thunderstorms Cause Floods

The night after a red weather warning was issued for incoming hot weather, thunderstorms hit southern parts of England.

Though the Met Office had already predicted “thundery storms”, many were shocked by the size and strength. 

In Bristol, earlier in the evening, a house caught fire – it’s thought this was as a result of a lightning strike.

In London, the hours-long storm, with its loud thunder claps and bright flashes of white lightning, woke many up in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Others noted how heavy and long-lasting the rainfall was; precipitation that led to flash floods and enormous puddles.

This has had an affect on multiple Tube lines. 

And the flooding comes after passengers were warned to avoid unnecessary train travel on lines like the London North Eastern Railway (LNER), Chiltern, Great Western and South Western Railway as the coming red weather warning (which still stands) arrives. 

Which Tube lines have been affected on Tuesday 23 June?
