An exciting week ahead in Neighbours (Picture: Prime/Michael Adams/Metro)

A former Ramsay Street makes their way back to the cul de sac in Neighbours next week – a whopping 31 years following their last appearance.

Now you may be forgiven if you don’t remember them, as they were a baby last time they lived in Erinsborough. I am, of course, referring to Gaby Willis’ (Rachel Blakely) son Zac, who is now all grown up and portrayed by actor Alex Kaan.

After securing himself a new job at the hotel with thanks to his aunty Terese’s (Rebekah Elmaloglou) recommendation, there could also be a relationship on the cards with Colton Keys (Jakob Ambrose).

However, it soon becomes clear that Zac has some skeletons in his closet, and he quickly brushed Colton off.

Elsewhere, Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) hatches a plan to try and separate Wendy Rodwell (Candice Leask) from her husband Andrew (Lloyd Will), and even ends her friendship with their daughter Sadie (Emerald Chan).

Meanwhile, Elle Robinson (Elise Jansen) is on the warpath again, and Cara Varga-Murphy (Sara West) attempts to build bridges with her dad Greg (Gary Sweet).

For all of next week’s Neighbours gossip, read on!

Monday, September 22

Andrew finds himself with the perfect excuse to sneak away for a secret rendezvous with Holly at the motel – saying he’s keeping surveillance at the Linwell warehouse.

The pair begin to lay out their plans for a shiny new future together, with Andrew even suggesting a move to the peninsula so they can be closer to his dad Stephen and sister Gretchen.

Holly, eager to make things happen sooner rather than later, hatches a scheme of her own. She throws together a last-minute art class at The Waterhole, convincing Wendy to lead the session.

Wendy is told that the class has been on the books for weeks, but that the original teacher dropped out at the last second. What she doesn’t realise is that it’s all a ploy – Holly’s set-up to introduce her to Trent, a lonely regular at the pub who’s hoping to meet someone special.

The class, however, proves to be a flop. Trent isn’t exactly impressed, especially once he learns Wendy’s married.

Andrew isn’t thrilled by Holly’s antics either, but she insists her heart is in the right place – if Wendy has someone to lean on, then it will be easier for Andrew to cut ties and begin their new life together.

Meanwhile, Sadie is feeling sidelined by Holly’s constant knock-backs. In an effort to cheer both her and Max up, Taye – who’s suddenly obsessed with skincare – suggests they whip up their own face masks.

Could this be the beginning of a new beauty business? Max reluctantly joins in, but quickly bails when Sadie and Taye start flirting and play-fighting.

Wracked with guilt, Sadie and Taye apologise, while Max admits he wishes he could find a way to finally get over Holly.

Later, Sadie confronts Holly directly, demanding to know why she’s being so distant. Just because things ended with Max, does that mean their friendship has to end too?

Holly, her head now spinning with dreams of starting afresh with Andrew, makes it clear she feels Sadie has taken Max’s side. For her, that means the friendship can’t continue.

Sadie is left crushed when Holly bluntly declares that it’s best if they stay out of each other’s lives altogether.

Sadie, Max and Taye decide that a day at the beach is exactly what they need to shake off their Holly drama.

But while the trio are meant to be relaxing, Max is quickly distracted – hitting it off with Jayda, one of the volleyball players, and doing his best to impress her.

Sadie, meanwhile, is left glum and confides in Taye. She’s even reached out to Mackenzie for advice, but Mackenzie’s reply only makes things worse: Holly has been ghosting her too.

Sparks start to fly between Max and Jayda – but when it comes down to it, Max can’t bring himself to kiss her. It’s clear he’s nowhere near ready to move on from his breakup.

Still hurting, he and Sadie take comfort in the fact they at least have each other to lean on.

Elsewhere, Colton finds himself swept up in a whirlwind when he meets a handsome stranger at the Back Lane Bar.

The chemistry is instant, and time flies until the mystery man has to dash off for an interview – but not before cheekily returning to plant a kiss on Colton.

Later, while catching up with Leo and Krista over drinks, Colton is stunned when the very same man, Zac, walks in. He’s revealed as Lassiters’ new second in command hire.

Colton wastes no time in inviting him out again, and though Zac rainchecks, Colton dares to feel hopeful. That is, until he later bumps into an agitated Zac, offers him a swim, and is flatly told there’s nothing between them, leaving Colton reeling.

Catching up with Terese, Zac remains tight-lipped about a recent breakup, but he nails his interview and lands the coveted 2IC role. Terese even offers him a room at No. 22.

But just as things look set to settle, Zac’s phone rings. Clearly irritated, he dodges the call and brushes off an eager Colton once more.

Later, after collecting his belongings from the hotel, Zac is bombarded with more calls – and in frustration, he hurls his phone straight into Lassiters Lake.

Elle is still on her journalistic warpath in Erinsborough, gearing up to drop yet another bombshell article. But when she turns up at the Varga-Murphys’ to apologise, Cara’s having none of it. She’s tired of Elle’s excuses and makes it clear her words mean absolutely nothing.

Things get even frostier after Elle publishes a new piece on Councillor Amelia Jones. Cara calls her out, furious that Elle is meddling with an active police investigation.

Elle, however, stands her ground, claiming they’re both on the same side. But she’s soon left humiliated when Amelia herself arrives armed with evidence to prove her innocence.

Still convinced there’s more to uncover, Elle becomes increasingly paranoid, feeling as though someone is following her through the complex – though she dismisses it as nerves.

Over at Lassiters, Terese is stuck in the middle and starting to crack under the pressure. Elle is lighting fires all over town and refusing to put them out, much to the concern of Karl and Susan.

Desperate for control, Terese reluctantly takes drastic action after Elle’s latest stunt – she makes the call to Paul, who is set to return home to deal with his daughter once and for all.

Meanwhile, Cara is so worried about her dad that she avoids going back to work. But Greg insists she return to help with the Linwell case.

Later, Cara vents to Nicolette about the strain between her and Greg, giving Nicolette the perfect chance to dig for information. Over coffee, Greg admits how much he misses his closeness with Cara but doesn’t know how to bridge the gap.

Encouraged, Greg nervously invites Cara out for a beer. In their safe space, the pair finally open up. Greg confesses the truth he’s been hiding: he badly miscalculated his retirement and is now running out of money, concealing the problem from Cara’s mum.

Relieved to be honest again, Cara promises her full support.

Elsewhere, Terese is surprised when she learns Zac rejected Colton’s advances, but Zac continues to deny there was ever any spark. Settling into his new role at the hotel, he and Krista seem to be shaping up into a dream-team partnership.

Still, Zac insists on keeping his picture off the company website, dismissing it as an ‘unflattering photo.’

Later, while checking in on Elle, he finds himself relating a little too closely when she vents about never being able to escape her past in the digital age.

Thursday, September 25

Andrew and Holly keep meeting up in secret, but their bubble bursts when Cara starts asking too many questions. With his cover blown, Andrew has no choice but to head back home to Wendy – who, blissfully unaware, just wants to reconnect with her husband.

Consumed by guilt, Andrew later admits to Holly that he feels like a terrible person. The lies to Wendy are weighing heavily on him, and he can’t keep living like this.

Elsewhere, Leo’s hopes of enjoying some rare one-on-one time with Krista are dashed when Zac shows up at No. 22, looking to escape the tension in the house.

Oblivious to the strain, Krista warmly invites him to stay, delighted by their growing friendship.

The bond only deepens at work, when Zac presents Krista with the Bronze Bell, leaving her touched by the gesture. But Leo, increasingly on edge, voices his concerns to Terese, admitting he’s worried he’ll be pushed aside by Krista’s dedication to her career. Terese, however, reassures him there’s no reason to fear.

Elsewhere, Paul jets back into Melbourne, and Elle braces herself for his judgement. But instead of criticism, she’s thrown when he praises her latest story.

Later, when Terese checks in, Paul remains vague, brushing off questions with a casual assurance that everything with Elle is ‘in hand.’

Elle, however, isn’t so certain. While catching up with Greg at The Tram, that unsettling feeling of being watched creeps back again. She tries to shrug it off, grateful for Greg’s support – but the moment turns chilling when the screech of a speeding car suddenly bears down on her…
