In 1993 on Genera Hospital, future lovebirds Michael "Stone" Cates (Michael Sutton) and Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) met for the first time at John "Jagger" Cates and AJ Quartermaine's boxing match. It was far from love at first sight; Stone was somewhat rude to Robin, who dismissed him as a jerk. Despite these inauspicious beginnings, Robin and Stone's romance blossomed into one of the show's all-time most memorable pairings, which was tragically cut short in 1995 when Stone passed away due to AIDS.

In 1980, All My Children’s Cliff Warner (Peter Bergman) and Nina Cortlandt (Taylor Miller) wed for the first time in a storybook ceremony, much to the chagrin of the bride's overprotective father, Palmer Cortlandt. Despite quite the last-minute hiccup — the groom discovered that his one-night stand with Sybil had left her pregnant — Cliff and Nina’s splashy nuptials were mostly picture-perfect. Albeit reluctantly, Palmer walked his beloved, lace-clad daughter down the aisle for the outdoor ceremony, which was shot at the Waveny Mansion in New Cannan, CT (standing in for Pine Valley’s Cortlandt Manor) after she and her bridal party (which included Brooke English as a bridesmaid and “Monique Jonvil”, who would later be revealed to actually be her mother, Daisy Murdoch, as matron of honor) arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. After the vows were exchanged, the couple and their guests shared a champagne toast (“To my beautiful bride, and the beautiful life we are going to be sharing — from this day on,” was Cliff’s offering) and dug into a three-tier cake.

In 2004, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) son, Jack, Jr., better known as JJ, was born on Days of Our Lives. He came into the world in Melaswen, where Jen had gone in search of Jack, who was believed to have been murdered by the Salem Stalker.

In 2010, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) was surprised (in a good way) when Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) asked her to marry him on Days of Our Lives. "The smartest thing I've ever done in my whole life was fall in love with you," Sami beamed after Rafe presented her with a heartfelt proposal and pledges of love.

In 2013 on Young and Restless, Chancellor Park was dedicated to the memory of the late Katherine Chancellor. The ceremony was officiated by Father Todd Williams, played by Corbin Bernsen, the real-life son of Katherine's portrayer, Jeanne Cooper, who had passed away earlier in the year. Katherine’s widower, Patrick Murphy, placed her urn at the site and stressed that this was a celebration of Kay's life, not a funeral. With a flourish, he unveiled a plaque that was inscribed with the words, "In loving memory of Katherine Chancellor." He told his fellow mourners, “There is one more surprise – today is the dedication of Chancellor Park, Katherine’s place for now and for always.” Danny Romalotti performed a song in tribute to Katherine before an assembly of guests that included Jill Foster Abbott, Nikki Newman, Devon Hamilton, Paul Williams and Nina Webster. Jill was among those who spoke, noting that despite her decades of animosity with Kay, they had ultimately forged a deep love for one another.
