Just a few days ago, Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, added yet another feather to his cap by joining the ownership group of Chelsea Women in the WSL. He announced that he has purchased a 10% stake for about 20 million pounds ($26.5 million). While making this announcement on social media, the Reddit co-owner wrote, “I’ve bet big on women’s sports before—and I’m doing it again.” He also assured “The Blues” fans that he’ll be attending their FA Cup final match against “The Red Devils” at the iconic Wembley Stadium on Sunday. He kept his promise and attended their match with his family. Interestingly, this was Ohanian’s second big investment in women’s soccer. In 2020, he became a founding investor in the Los Angeles NWSL team Angel City FC. He was the largest shareholder in this team until it was sold for around $250 million in 2024. Recently, an Angel City FC fan showcased her emotion seeing both Ohanian and Williams in a single frame during their recent visit to Wembley. What was Ohanian’s response to that fan?

Once during an interview on the Sportico conference’s Business of Women’s Sport, Alexis Ohanian stated, “There will be a $B women’s sports franchise by 2030. In reply to those fans, Ohanian said, “Nah, they just all found out @OlympiaOhanian would be there.” Seeing Serena Williams and her family having a wonderful outing at Wembley Stadium, an Angel City fan highlighted some of those moments with the caption, “As an Angel City supporter- the highlight of my day, shooting the FA Cup final, was definitely seeing  @alexisohanian at the game (and obvs. @serenawilliams).” Replying to that fan, Ohanian dropped a hint about his future plans by saying, “Thank you for all the support over half a decade!! The best is yet to come…“

Chelsea defeated Manchester United by 3-0 in that match. Sandy Baltimore scored two goals, and Catarina Macario scored one. With this incredible win, they have now secured a treble (FA Cup, WSL, and the Women’s League Cup) under the leadership of the new manager, Sonia Bompastor. Reacting to this win, Serena Williams’ husband shared a post on his IG story with the caption, “@chelseafcw secure the treble!!! Amazing work, ladies.”
