Afghanistan's Taliban releases detained US national Dennis Coyle

Afghanistan’s Taliban government said on Tuesday it had released American academic Dennis Coyle after more than a year in detention. Coyle was arrested in January 2025 on allegations he violated laws, although Afghan authorities never publicly stated what laws he was accused of violating.
