After delivering mixed results during its theatrical run a couple of months ago, director Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later has set a Netflix release date. The long-awaited legacy sequel will debut domestically on the streamer on September 20. It earned mixed reviews from audiences during its theatrical run, and there is a risk that the feelings could spill over onto its home video era. Sony needs the movie to work on streaming, especially since it is committed to releasing an already-canned follow-up. Sony bought the rights to both 28 Years Later and its immediate follow-up, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which is set for release in January.
