John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) makes a concerning discovery about Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) in this new Emmerdale video.

The village medic has a god complex, meaning he orchestrates situations that he knows he can fix, so he can step in and appear a hero to those around him.

An example of this was forcing Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) to have an allergic reaction. John swapped their coffees which meant he drank the one with nut milk and seconds later, he was on the floor struggling to breathe.

John waited in a room and watched Jacob suffer. He then rushed in, grabbed his EpiPen, and injected Jacob in front of a relieved Vic (Isabel Hodgins).

Most of the time, John’s plans work but other times, they don’t. Last year, John injected Nate (Jurell Carter) with some medication but he reacted badly and died. This meant John had to dispose of Nate’s body in the lake.

Egotistical John loves himself so much, he nominated himself for a heroism award last month. In upcoming episodes, the day of the ceremony arrives, but John is stopped in his tracks when he finds Aaron in a worrying situation.

John arrives home to the flat and quickly sees Aaron breaking down in tears.

It’s clear he’s very anxious and upset about something, as he tells John that he isn’t sure if he can attend the evening.

Spying an opportunity, John will decide to not go to the awards do, telling everyone he needs to stay in and look after Aaron.

Once Vic and Tracy (Amy Walsh) learn of this development, they decide to throw John a celebration in the pub as an alternative – and of course he absolutely loves this idea.
