The magnitude of adapting A Tale of Two Cities (again) is captured perfectly in the fact that Charles Dickens' classic is the heart of an oft-repeated gag in The Simpsons. You don't get to that sort of cultural penetration without serious brand awareness, typically, but the great contradiction here is that most of the people who can quote Mr Burns saying "it was the best of times, it was the blurst of times" probably can't name any of the characters.
