‘A Minecraft Movie’ Climbs Above Landmark 95% Rotten Tomatoes Lord of the Rings Hit at Global Box Office

Over the years, several massively successful films have stopped just short of the coveted $1 billion mark at the global box office. Most recently, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimerconcluded its run with around $975 million worldwide. The biographical thriller will no doubt be re-released on IMAX multiple times in the future, and it’ll probably pass the $1 billion mark eventually. But A Minecraft Movie isn’t the kind of film that would typically warrant a re-release. It’ll need one, however, if it ever wants to pass the $1 billion mark. As things stand, the movie will likely fall painfully short of the milestone, especially now that it has been released on home video.
