Fantasy asks more from its audiencethan most genres. Starting a new show means sitting through introductions to an entire world, its rules, its magic system, and, of course, all the characters that will drive the story... before the story even has a chance to begin properly. That is exactly where weaker fantasy shows lose viewers, because the great ones know how important it is to make the setup and plot come together.
