While high fantasy shows are excellent for escaping from the real world and into complex, far-away ones, there's truly nothing like a great low fantasy show. The best low fantasy shows are grounded in the real world or a version of it, but the main storylines are driven by some sort of fantastical or supernatural element. This can look like shows that explore how fantastical beings exist alongside humans in the real world, as well as those that show normal people suddenly having to adjust to learning about the existence of the fantastical.
