American Idol season 23 has changed the show entirely, which is likely in part because of Carrie Underwood's influence as a first-time judge on the series. Throughout the season, it's been clear that Carrie doesn't have a ton of experience doing the work required of an Idol judge, but she's been doing her best to keep up with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Despite knowing that she's a former American Idol winner, Carrie's been trying to blend in with the rest of the panel in order to make a better impression on the contestants, though it hasn't been working well.
